About Joseph Hayton

Joseph Hayton is a stone caver and sculptor based in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. Joe takes inspiration from the natural world and the human form. Working in a range of stones including York stone, limestone and Marble he also sculpts in clay to produce limited edition bronze sculpture.

Biography / CV of Joseph Hayton

Joe Hayton`s life long passion for art and sculpture along with his practical nature lead him to take up an apprenticeship in Stone Masonry at York Collage, Centre of excellence. Taking the craft to an advanced level Joes Talent Was recognised by the tutors and he was presented an award by `The Masonic Province of Yorkshire North and East Ridings Craft Lodges and Royal Arch Chapters` Most Improved Mason 2009. After working for several years as a full time stone mason at various stone yards and quarries in Yorkshire, Joes passion for carving more ornate stone work has lead him open his own studio and gallery in the picturesque Town of Pateley Bridge, in the heart of the Yorkshire dales. Joe has recently been awarded a Public art commission By Sustrans. This work will make up part of coast to coast cycle route/sculpture trail called `Way of the Roses`.Work on this project will start this summer.
